Greater DC Cares supports nonprofit agency partners in many ways in order to increase their capacities and better impact the communities they serve. By becoming a Greater DC Cares agency partner, your organization will be able to tap into a variety of services to help achieve the organization’s mission.

Monthly Calendar
Over 1,000 volunteers support our agency partners through our Monthly Calendar program. If your organization has volunteer needs that recur at least monthly, can accommodate first-time and one-time volunteers, and have a staff person who will be present while the volunteers are on site, you can post volunteer opportunities on our Monthly Calendar. Volunteers will be able to sign up directly through our website, and a Greater DC Cares project coordinator will help coordinate between your organization and the volunteers.
Skilled Volunteers
If your nonprofit could use assistance from skilled professionals in the areas of finance and accounting, fundraising and development, human resources, information technology, marketing and communications, or organizational management, we can help. Our skilled volunteer program places teams of professionals with at least three years of experience with nonprofits in need of those skill sets to complete projects.
Board Leadership Program
If your organization is recruiting new board members, our Board Leadership Program can provide highly qualified, energetic candidates. Whatever the source of your board needs -- board members cycling off, increasing diversity, increasing board giving, adding skill sets, etc. -- Greater DC Cares can help you recruit from a talented pool of professionals who have completed our innovative Board Leadership Program.
Days of Service
Greater DC Cares organizes days of service for companies and large volunteer groups. On our largest days of service (MLK Day, Servathon, and 9/11), we engage several thousand volunteers. Additionally, through our Business Shares program, corporate and other large groups can volunteer together at a nonprofit. If your organization can accommodate large groups of volunteers, we can work together to craft high quality, high impact projects. These projects range from facilities maintenance to spending time with or serving clients, and we can be flexible and creative when designing projects.
Partner Trainings
Greater DC Cares provides a variety of trainings to help our agency partners effectively manage volunteers, increase board effectiveness, and reach out to the community. These trainings are only available to agency partners.
